The Shenandoah Rose Society is hosting the Colonial District Pre-Spring meeting and seminars which will be held in Staunton, Virginia, on March 18, 2023, at the Frontier Culture Museum. Seminars and meals will take place in the Dairy Barn Lecture Hall starting at 8:00 a.m. Your $70 registration fee includes the seminars, catered meals (pastries and coffee in the morning, lunch, and the evening meal) and a tour of the exhibits of the Museum. Seminars include:
Rose Rosette Disease, by Ray Shipley
Up-to-date information on the Spotted Lantern Fly, by the County Agent from Winchester
Program and Q & A with Dr. Satish Prabhu, nationally known award winning rose grower and exhibitor from North Carolina
Other seminars are still being finalized.
For those coming in on Friday we will have a get-together on Friday evening at a local restaurant – Dutch treat.
The day will be a worthwhile experience in that you will get to hear excellent speakers, learn more about roses, tour the Museum, and enjoy food and fellowship with other rosarians. The Frontier Culture Museum is unique in that it is the only museum of its kind anywhere in the world! It is a museum of working farms from 1600 up to 1860. Bring your camera and enjoy a wonderful day.
